Introduction and Purpose: Training Techniques and Lessons

Forensic Science: Free Webinars Downloadable for use in the Classroom

The National Institute of Justice (NIJ) Forensic Technology Center of Excellence (FTCoE) focuses on the practice, and strengthening the impact, of forensic science through rigorous technology corroboration, evaluation, and adoption; effective knowledge transfer and education; and comprehensive dissemination of best practices and guidelines to agencies.

FTCoE provides a variety of research and reports related to forensic science. Perhaps of most interest to those at the secondary school level are the webinars that are offered and available at no cost. Although some may be too technical to use at certain levels, there are many that can be useful for career programs at the secondary level.

Below is a list of a few offered in January and February of 2019. They cover Digital Forensics, Fire Debris Analysis, Trace Analysis, Quality Assurance, and Crime Gun Intelligence. The subject matter experts that will be presenting on these topics are champions in their respective fields and will bring valuable information to the forensic community through their detailed and thorough research.
